Giveaway Day!

Giveaway Day/Week at Sew, Mama, Sew! is here! And it's here, too! In case you didn't know, Sew, Mama, Sew! is a super cool blog/online fabric store that is a fabulous resource for anyone who is learning how to sew or wants to expand their sewing skills. I've learned so many things from their tutorials, which are much easier to follow than a regular sewing pattern because they include lots of pictures to help you figure out what you're doing.

That said, if you're here looking at my giveaway, then you probably know how awesome Sew, Mama, Sew! is and you probably don't know anything about me and my own blog. So welcome! My name is Nicole and I like to sew, do hand embroidery, and garden. I live in Buffalo, NY, and I have two kids, two cats, a husband, and an Etsy shop where I sell my hand embroidered accessories.

On to the giveaway! I'm offering up any one of the coin purses in my shop. You can find them here, but here is an example of one:


To enter the giveaway, please leave a comment on this post telling me what flowers you most look forward to seeing in the spring/summer (I am looking forward to seeing my big white puffy hydrangea bloom). Also, please leave your email address so I can contact you if you win.

The giveaway will be open until May 25, 8pm EDT, at which time I will close comments on this post. I will pick a random winner using random.org and publish the results by May 27. International entries are welcome.

    Peonies are my favorites. Usually there are some still around for my birthday, but since it's been so warm, so early I think they will be all gone by then. Still, I love seeing them. Thanks for participating in the giveaway!

    Lilacs, and I'm totally bummed, because my lilacs didn't bloom this year :( The peonies in the front yard are ready to go and I'm excited for them (but the back yard ones aren't doing a thing (prob because we transplanted them in the fall). I know you wanted this much detail ;)

    Hmm, hard choice, I love the tulips in our garden but either side of our front path we have lavender. When that comes into bloom it grows over the path slightly so as you brush against it you release more of it's smell, if follows you around, it's nice and relaxing.

    I would love to see daffodils and forsythia but alas, I live in southwest FL and they don't grow here. Maybe a trip home to VA in the spring would be a great idea!

    I still love gerbera daisies...I know it's not the most original. I live in the desert, so frankly, any flowers make me happy as we approach the summer. (It's 105 today. Whee!)

    I have two flower loves. The first is Lily of the Valley, which do not last long at all. My second favorite is the snapdragon. I have come to learn that they are actually perennials (even though most people treat them as annuals). So, I have a whole pile of snapdragons that have come up for the last few years. Some of them have even gone rogue and have started growing from the crack between the house and the driveway, etc.

    I always look forward to the snow drops, as they are the first sign of spring, then in summer it's "echinacea" and "diptam" (sorry I'm too lazy to search the dictioanry) anyway the frist in a great dark reddish purple and the latter one for the great smell, a bit like lemon lime and orange mixed in one with a beatful flowering...

    I'm at a bit of a loss here - hahaha. Living in a gardenless apartment with a hubby that's allergic to pollen leaves me with limited options. I'd have to go for daisies, because I still love making daisy-chains with them and it's a favourite childhood memory :)

    I''m not sure I can choose just one. I love those first snowdrops, and then the lilacs and peonies, but my favorite flower is my flax plant which flowers every morning and all the blooms fall off in the heat of the day, only to be replaced the next morning. Lovely.

    My favorite flower that I look forward to are lilacs. I have been going out each morning and cutting a few that I see. They make the whole house smell like heaven. I have purple and white ones in my yard, I only wished the blooms lasted longer than they do.

    I love my lillies and roses. This is the first year that I have a really good hydrangea bloom and I go out and look at it every day. I even took many pictures of it to remember. Here's hoping for more!

    Lilacs because they remind me of my grandma. She had two huge bushes, one pale lavender and one white. She would always send us home with bouquets as soon as they were in bloom. Thanks for the giveaway. kimrat7(at)gmail(dot)com
